ATMOSPHERIC images of Liverpool’s exhilarating post-punk era feature in a new exhibition by photographer Francesco Mellina.
Sound and Vision, at the National Conservation Centre from May 1 to August 31, showcases 60 photographs taken from 1978-82 – most of them previously unseen.
The exhibition reveals a unique visual record of the city’s music and fashion scene, capturing the striking individuality of acts from New Wave to the New Romantics and Rockabillies. It features iconic Liverpool bands and artists such as Echo and the Bunnymen and The Teardrop Explodes, alongside names who went on to achieve worldwide status, including U2, right.
FOR a chance to win one of two pairs of tickets for the exhibition’s private view and after-party on April 30, answer the following question: What is the name of the Mathew Street club run by Roger Eagle during the 1970s.
