The Panics to support Paolo Nutini at 02 Academy Liverpool

AUSTRALIAN five-piece The Panics will be supporting Paolo Nutini when his 12-date UK tour stops off at the 02 Academy Liverpool next month.

The concerts coincide with the release of their first single Don’t Fight It on May 18 and new album Cruel Guards on June 1.

Through word of mouth and radio play, The Panics have already sold out a stream of UK shows and drawn notable admirers from their live performances, including Kings of Leon who wanted them to join them on tour after seeing them play in America. The Nashville band tipped them to Rolling Stone USA.

They have also already supported Morrissey, Noel Gallagher, Supergrass, Grandaddy, Badly Drawn Boy and Happy Mondays.

Noel Gallagher also invited their lead singer Jae Laffer to support him on his acoustic tour.

Mondays drummer Gaz Whelan first spotted the band, and Shaun Ryder signed them to his label.
