Artists Al and Al, winners of the Liverpool Art Prize 2009 _460
“The work combines the technological world we live in today with the more irrational world of superstition.”
The artists have used repeated motifs to link the two concepts.
“The chrome skeleton that you see in each card is inside all CGI characters, such as Shrek, so it is featured in all rational forms of media,” explains Taylor.
More than 80 initial Art Prize nominations were whittled down to a short-list of six by a judging panel that included the Wirral-based internationally renowned Singh Twins.
Al and Al as overal winners will receive £2,000, while the People’s Prize is £1,000.
