LJMU students prepare to show their work to the public

FINAL-YEAR students at Liverpool John Moores University’s School of Art and Design are putting the finishing touches to their work ahead of opening their degree shows to the public.

A great opportunity to spot emerging artistic talent, the event attracts thousands of visitors each year, including professional artists, designers, supporters from the creative industries and potential future employers. Held in LJMU’s new £27m Art and Design Academy, the exhibitions start on Friday and feature the works of students of architecture, graphic arts, interior design, product design, fine art, textiles and fashion will be on display.

Martin Downie, director of the School of Art and Design, said: “This is an opportunity for visitors to see if they can spot the country’s next big names in the art and design world.” Entry is free, but tickets must be reserved for the catwalk shows on 0151 904 1280.
