VISITORS to the Walker are invited to follow in the footsteps of Marilyn Monroe and have their photograph taken in the style of Cecil Beaton.

Local photographer Zoe Richards will be holding a workshop offering tips on how to create a portrait shot, as well as taking pictures of people visiting the William Brown Street art gallery.

They form part of a series of events that tie into the Walker’s new exhibition, Cecil Beaton: Portraits, which opens on June 26.

Running until August 31, it features some of his most striking images, including a picture of Marilyn reclining on a bedspread and a gamine-faced Audrey Hepburn.

The portrait sessions will take place from 11am-4pm on July 5 and 25, and August, 2, 4, 15 and 25. The photography workshop will be from 10am-1pm on August 3, and there will be also be exhibition-linked talks and family activities held throughout the summer.
