POP: The iconic dance music duo Pet Shop Boys will be performing their hits and tracks from their new album Yes at the Echo Arena as part of the Summer Pops Festival. This performance has been designed by acclaimed theatrical director Es Devlin and promises to be a spectacular multi-media stage show.Echo Arena, tickets £25-£30, 0844 8000 400.

ART: San Francisco-based artist Bernie Lubell’s new exhibition A Theory of Entanglement is open at FACT. Viewers can also create their own artwork in the media lounge. Lubell’s sculptures will be displayed in both galleries and other public spaces.FACT until September 6.

CLASSICAL: Duo Ewa Mizerska and Emma Abbate are playing works by Beethoven, Janacek, and Mendelssohn on piano and cello. Each one touches on the composer theme of the Chester Summer Music Festival. Support comes from Charles Elston.St Mary’s Centre, Chester, from 1pm, tickets £8, 0845 241 7868.
