Exhibition: Brush Strokes by Lisa Holmes, Ness Gardens

AN ARTIST who uses layers of pencil, graphite, and even surgical knives to create her work is currently featured in an art exhibition at Ness Gardens.

Brush Strokes showcases the talent of self-taught local artist Lisa Holmes, 33.

She has been an artist for the past seven years, having loved to draw as a child.

Organised by fellow artist Heather Hyde, the exhibition will display her collection of landscapes as well as some of her black and white and watercolour animal drawings.

Holmes’ piece depicting penguins won the Best Pencil Drawing awards at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, and her work has been commended by the Cheshire Wildlife Show.

Her work will be available to buy along with work by the other five artists featured.

The exhibition runs until July 15 and is open between 10am and 5pm daily.

It is sponsored by Morecrofts Solicitors, where Holmes works as a legal secretary.
