TRIBUTE band Abba Magic has been announced as the support act for the Magic of Motown show at the Southport Summer Classics weekend.
The concert will take place on Friday night, while on Saturday the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a programme that includes the music of George Gershwin to a backdrop of fireworks.
Organisers Sefton Council is reporting record ticket sales for the Victoria Park event.
Magic of Motown producer Michael Taylor says: “You’ve seen the box office record-breaking movie, been to see the smash-hit West End stage show, now you can experience the music of Abba live, authentically reproduced in the UK’s number one concert show, Abba Magic.”
The show has outsold previous Summer Classics star attractions Russell Watson and Michael Ball.
The evening now begins an hour earlier at 7pm, opening with Abba Magic performing their Queen’s Award-nominated concert show.
