ART: The Fab Four, as channelled through the paint brushes of hundreds of amateur and professional artists, is the subject of the annual Come Together exhibition at the Liverpool Academy of Arts in time for Beatles Week and the Mathew Street Festival. In a stand-alone strand to the exhibition, Cheshire artist Len Ehlen will explore in his paintings, above, the impact The Beatles had on the city. Until September 3, Liverpool Academy of Arts

PHOTOGRAPHY “Unclaimed” is a fascinating exhibition of stray snaps rescued from a skip on Wood Street when the Samson Camera Shop closed down. The “unclaimed” pictures go back as far as the 1930s, featuring weddings, holidays and parties, and go through the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, until concluding with more recent pictures. THEATRE: Lodestar Theatre Company and the Liverpool Theatre Company present Hamlet, played out in the opulent surroundings of St George’s Hall’s Small Concert Room. Until August 23.

STARRING Su Pollard as Miss Hannigan and David McAlister as Daddy Warbucks, heart-warming rags-to-riches musical Annie will be at Liverpool Empire next month. Featuring familiar songs like It’s a Hard Knock Life and Tomorrow.
