DAILY Post readers are being given the chance to design a three storey-high art work for Liverpool’s new Topshop and Topman store.
Local artists are invited to submit ideas for a mural or graffiti-style work, which will feature on the wall that rises through the main staircase on every floor of the building.
The winner will then create the work, with all materials provided by Topshop and Topman. There are just two days left before the closing date for the competition, which was first announced in the Daily Post last month.
The high street giant has been housed in the former Dorothy Perkins while its original Church Street store undergoes a complete transformation – and directors want to ensure it has a real local flavour when it re-opens on September 17. The winner, chosen by creative directors Tim Whitmore and Paul Drummond, will receive a £200 voucher.
They will preferably have their own team of helpers, who will have five days to complete the wall, but the store can provide an extra two people to help if necessary. The wall will need to be completed between September 10 - 15 and the design must be inspired by the words “fashion, youth, colourful, stylish and avant garde” for the Topshop section of the wall and “authoritative, edgy, surprising, inspiring, vivid and sub-culture” for Topman.
Entrants should submit their ideas, with a link to their online portfolio if possible, to gemma.boner@ topman.com by the end of tomorrow.
