Tickets go on sale for RLPO schools concerts

THE Royal Liverpool Philharmonic has expanded its Schools’ Concerts programme, after overwhelming demand this year.

The series attracted 22,000 children and young people from 200-plus local primary, secondary and special schools.

For 2010, the RLPO has added extra concerts, taking the number of seats up to 30,000.

Tickets for the shows go on sale this week – with a choice of 10 concerts for children at Key Stage 2, aged 8 to 11 years, and two for Key Stage 3, aged 11 to 14.

A further seven concerts, aimed at ages five to seven, will go on sale in January.

The theme will be Back to the Future, to tie in with Liverpool’s Year of Innovation.

Tickets are £3.50 per child, plus one free adult ticket for every 10 bought.

There is a one-off administration fee of £8 per booking.
