Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s Oompah Band to play the CAMRA Liverpool Real Ale Pubs Festival

A COLLABORATION between beer and brass will provide the Liverpool Real Ale Pubs Festival with a musical backdrop.

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s Oompah Band, made up of members of the orchestra’s brass section, will be performing during the event.

Organised by CAMRA, the festival will launch the city’s newest real ale manufacturers, the Liverpool Organic Brewery, which will be offering the first of its cask ales brewed in its new premises near Bank Hall.

There will also be a range of other Merseyside-brewed real ales on sale, showing the area’s growing reputation as a centre for quality brewing.

Geoff Edwards, chair of Liverpool and Districts CAMRA, says: “This is a ground-breaking collaboration between two of Liverpool’s leading cultural institutions.

“Both are in the business of bringing entertainment and enjoyment to people, and in raising the profile of cultural events in the city.

“Music and real ale have a historic affinity, and this evening brings together the best of brass and the best of Merseyside brewed real ale in the classic setting of the Phil’s Grand Foyer Bar.”

Advance tickets are £2, which includes a free pint of real ale. Book on 0151 709 3789, or online at www.liverpoolphil.com. Admission is also available on the night.
