COLIN REID’S paintings aim to depict the hazy way in which our minds recall memories.
The Liverpool artist, whose solo exhibition Re-Collections is at the Lauries Centre in Birkenhead until January 3, captures “suggestions of insignificant events which cannot be fully recalled” on canvas.
He says: “My works are simple snapshots of everyday life which attempt to represent the way we store and recall visual information.
“They represent lost memories – the blackout from a drunken night, a forgotten lover’s kiss, the end of a dream.”
