Special FACT screening for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark with Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra

ORCHESTRAL Manoeuvres in the Dark presented their new DVD at a special screening at FACT.

Back in June, the 80s synth-pioneers, under front-man Andy McCluskey, realised a 30-year dream, backed by the 75-piece Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Wirral-based band performed a new orchestrated version of their back catalogue to a visual backdrop by filmmaker Hambi and artist Peter Saville.

Andy and Paul Humphreys abandoned almost all original instrumentation in favour of complete re-workings of song arrangements to utilise the full orchestra.

Set in the Philharmonic Hall with classics such as Enola Gay and Joan of Arc, Electricity: OMD with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra was edited at FACT, using its state-of-the-art film editing suite.

THE DVD is available to buy from www.fact.co.uk, priced £14.99, with an 11th studio album, with the working title of History of Modern, due in 2010.
