Janice Long to take part in Club Geek Chic event at LiverpoolCathedral

LIVERPOOL-BORN radio presenter Janice Long is appearing in what is being described as “a kind of live Desert Island Discs” by its organisers.

She will be taking part in one of Club Geek Chic’s In Conversation With events at Liverpool Cathedral, on March 25.

Long will be interviewed by BBC Radio Merseyside presenter Dave Monks, while her favourite songs will be performed by Ian Prowse, of Amsterdam, and emerging Scandinavian-born, Liverpool-based singer Ragz.

The next celebrity to be put under the lens will be photographer and performer Mike McCartney.

On April 23, Paul McCartney’s brother will talk about his career taking photographs of some of the biggest names in music history, his time as “Mike McGear” in The Scaffold and his brief stint as a ladies’ hairdresser.

Further confirmed guests this year include actor and director David Morrissey and comedian and impersonator Peter Serafinowicz.

Karen Podesta, of Club Geek Chic, says she hopes the events will continue into 2011.

“There are just so many incredible names connected with this city and Liverpool Cathedral holds a very special place in the heart of most people so it’s an ideal combination,” she says.

Tickets, priced £15, from 0151 702 7255.
