THE National Dance Company Wales is bringing two new dances to the Liverpool Playhouse this week.
Leading choreographer Itzik Galili’s commission Dance Inverse fills the whole of the stage as the troupe performs to steve Reich’s Six Marimbas and a new score commissioned by Russian composer/percussionist collective Percossa.
“I want the audience to dare to look a bit further, a little deeper,” he says. “I would like them to look at the back part of the stage and see the other side of the work.
“If they can then ignore the front part and step into the back part they will see far more about this first section when it repeats itself.”
The second piece is Veil of Stars by Andonis Foniadakis.
NEW WORKS is at the Liverpool Playhouse, March 19-20.
