There were several village halls, a barn at the back of a hotel and, oddest of all, a Victorian train dining car at Glenfinnan Station in the Highlands, which featured in the Harry Potter films.
“People were sitting at little tables of four, two of them facing one way and two of them facing the other,” explains the 39-year-old comic.
“The only way of doing it was wandering up and down the aisle. So half the time I was in front of you and half of the time I was behind you.
“It was like the audience was watching tennis.
“I was expecting 32 people who lived in Glenfinnan but actually what happened is we had four Scousers coming along, six guys from Manchester, we had people from Ireland who flew and then hired a car to get there.”
The journey to the Empire Theatre will not be as complicated. Gorman and his audience will be arriving by faster methods of transport.
Fittingly the new leg of the tour has been renamed – as the Sit Down, Pedal, Pedal, Stop and Stand Up (Only Without the Pedal, Pedal Bit) tour.
DAVE GORMAN is at the Liverpool Empire on Saturday.
