All Glastonbury-ed out? The UK's most iconic music festival might be celebrating its 40th anniversary this summer, but for many Brits it's just too much of a mosh-pit.
For those who want some serious culture, without the crowds of tweens, there's still plenty to choose from.
In spite of the recession, the festival scene has never been so vibrant – and whether you're a classical fan or a wine buff in waiting, there is a grown-up festival for everyone.
The Manx Telecom Bay festival (June 18-20) on the Isle of Man (www.bayfestival.im) has 24 sizzling bands over three days, all undercover in a black out tent so the special effects, stunning light shows and artists are showcased at their best right from the start.
Headliners include Spandau Ballet, The Real Thing, The Saturdays, Calvin Harris, JLS, The Feeling, Boy George, The Coronas, Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle, Diversity and Kim Wilde.

Closer to home, Topshop Bandstand Picnics for Teenage Cancer Trust is a gloriously unique outdoor picnic in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust featuring the cream of the musical crop.
T4’s Miquita Oliver will be hosting the one-day festival on June 19 in the lush environs of Stanley Park. There will be a host of hot musicians and DJs, including Los Campesinos!, (Sting's daughter) I Blame Coco, Summer Camp, The Zutons' saxophonist Abi Harding with Candie Payne and Egyptian Hip Hop.
And, in keeping with its fashion roots, the event will showcase exclusive collections.

Liverpool Summer Pops (July 2-31) returns for its 10th year this summer (www.cmpentertainment.com).
Over the years, artists from every genre – rock, jazz, folk and pop – have played the event, which became an integral part of the European summer musical calendar.
