HARRY POTTER model maker Daisy Dawes has been named the first children’s author- in-residence of Waterstones, Bold Street.
The Wirral-based writer will be holding monthly “Crafternoons” – workshops and events for children based on their favourite books, including her debut, Get Ahead Fred.
Dawes, who has worked as a model maker for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, TV series Pingu and Aardman Animation’s Rex the Runt, will be sharing her craft skills.
Jennifer Dobson, Waterstone’s senior bookseller, says: “Having Daisy here as our first resident children’s writer will be a great opportunity for our store to host these exciting events, where kids can get creative with plenty of activities at our craft days.”
The next session will be held on Saturday, from 1pm-3pm.
