LOCAL talent is being showcased at the National Conservation Centre in a display of the best artworks from recent open exhibitions staged in six greater Merseyside boroughs.
Art Merseywide: The Best of the Open Exhibitions features contributions by 54 artists, reflecting the variety of work being produced in the area.
Exhibition organiser Louise Hesketh, of The Brindley Arts Centre in Runcorn, says: “Local open exhibitions are a mixed blessing for curators because they are unpredictable.
“They encourage artists to participate in the local art scene, however, the exhibition is dictated in the main by the work that is entered, which is out of the curator’s control.”
The show, mostly made up of the work of semi-professional or talented amateurs, runs until October 31.
