THE theatre company behind the Liverpool Shakespeare Festival is holding a cabaret night at the Kazimier on Friday.
Acts ranging from pirate musical comedy to pole dancing duets will feature in Lodestar’s event.
Organisers are describing Kabarett Babel as “a night of decadent cabaret, louche musicianship and terpsichorean excess in the heart of Liverpool.”
Originally conceived as a fundraiser for the Liverpool- based theatre ensemble’s dramatic productions, this eclectic event has proved so popular that Lodestar has plans to make it a regular fixture.
MC Francoise Schmidt (Francis Tucker, best known for playing the Dame in the Everyman’s pantos) will lead the audience through an evening of varied acts including conjuror Magical Dave Alnwick, musician Mark Byrne, stand-up comedian Richard Kelly, comedy show Random Acts of Wildness, Ioisis Dancers, Jessica and theŠRabbits, the pirate musical Jolly Boat, and Memoire, a mix of film noir and Gothic electropop. Recent Lodestar productions include The House That Dripped Horror and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
KABARETT Babel takes place at The Kazimier, Wolstenholme Square, on October 15. Tickets, priced £10, from lodestartheatre.co.uk
