Frances Walden-Jones’ exhibition based on The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band opens at Liverpool Centre for Arts Development

THE Beatles’ 1967 album, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, has inspired Wirral- based artist Frances Walden- Jones’s latest exhibition.

She has painted her interpretation of each of the songs featured on the record in brightly coloured acrylic paint.

The works are on display at the Liverpool Centre for Arts Development, off Brownlow Hill, in Liverpool City Centre, as part of the Independents Biennial.

Walden-Jones, who grew up in North Wales and now lives in Birkenhead, says: “The words of the songs are poetry and I have had great fun turning out my own version in acrylic paint on canvas.

“I hope people will come along and have fun looking at them.”

Walden-Jones’s paintings are on display at the centre until November 28, alongside four other exhibitions featuring photography and painting.
