JOHN Moores Painting Prize winner Keith Coventry will take part in an “in conversation” event at the Walker Art Gallery next week.
He will be joined by art critic and curator Sasha Craddock, who judged the competition in 2008, to discuss his work and how he first entered the prize 20 years ago.
The Burnley-born artist beat 3,000 entrants to win the UK’s biggest painting contest with the piece Spectrum Jesus, inspired by Han van Meegeren’s notorious forgeries of the 17th-century Dutch master Johannes Vermeer.
The event will take place at 6pm on November 25. Call 0151 478 4697 to book a free place.
