Who is he? 35-year-old DJ, guitarist, music producer, artist and founder of Mark Ronson & The Business Intl.
What is he famous for? As well as his own stuff, he’s a pretty good judge of collaborators, too, having scored hits with Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Robbie Williams and Daniel Merriweather, to name just four of many. He comes from a talented family – his mother is Southport-born socialite Ann Dexter-Jones and his twin sisters are DJ Samantha and fashion designer Charlotte.
Distinguishing features? Cool and cutely handsome, he stepped up the fashion look to mixed reactions in August last year when he dyed his hair platinum blond for The Reinvention Issue of Blackbook magazine.
Career high? In 2008, Ronson picked up three Grammys and a Brit Award as Best British Male Solo Artist. Last year, he was nominated for a MOBO for Best Video and Best Song for Bang Bang Bang. He didn’t win, but played the best after-party set at Liverpool’s Shipping Forecast.
Career low? His excessive partying during the Amy link-up. 'I look back at pictures of me from that time, I simply do not recognise myself,' he admits.
Significant others? Having dated model Daisy Lowe, this month he became engaged to French actress, model and singer Joséphine de La Baume.
Not to be confused with? Samantha Ronson. She’s not as pretty.
He says? “At one point, it seemed normal to be in the papers every day. But that's not normal for me. I'm a DJ and producer, I'm supposed to be one of the indoor kids.”
Interesting fact? Ronson recorded The Bike Song at the Motor Museum on Lark Lane.
MARK RONSON plays a DJ set at Chibuku, at The Masque, Liverpool, on Friday, April 15.
