Liverpool’s two cathedral choirs to perform together in Easter Songs by Candlelight concert

THE choirs of Liverpool’s two cathedrals are to join forces for the first time in living memory to perform a public concert.

Easter Songs by Candlelight with the Two Choirs will be directed jointly by their directors David Poulter and Timothy Noon in a programme that includes the works of Tallis, Lottl, Gibbons, Brahms, Elgar, Tavener, Poulenc and Rutter.

Both choirs have sung at joint cathedral services in the past but this is the first time they will perform together in a full concert setting.

Organists from both cathedrals, Daniel Bishop and Richard Lea, will accompany the singing.

EASTER Songs by Candlelight is at the Anglican Cathedral on April 16. Tickets £10 from 0151 702 7255.
