Spike Theatre present fundraising variety night Variety Pack at The Kazimier

A ONE-OFF evening of variety and laughter is being held by a Liverpool theatre company to raise funds to take its show The Games to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.3

Taking place at The Kazimier on Thursday, Spike Theatre’s Variety Pack will include established performers as well as acting as a showcase for emerging talent and a platform for new material.

The evening will be hosted by Rinty Boo, actor and comedian Paul Duckworth’s eccentric creation, double act Random Acts of Wildness and award-winning comedy and music from Jolly Boat.

Francois the Gypsy musician, accordion player Matthew Wood and comedy actors Liam Tobin, Jamie Greer, Keddy Sutton, Lauren Silver, Lee McPherson, Lewis Brayand Colin Eccleston are also on the programme.

Spike’s fundraising campaign for its Olympic Games-inspired comedy show began earlier this year through online “crowd funding” site Wefund, raising just over its £2,750 target.

Artistic director Mike Smith says: “All the money raised on the night will go directly into the marketing and publicity to make sure The Games is seen across the UK and the world.”

SPIKE Theatres’s Variety Pack Fundraiser takes place at The Kazimier, Wolstenholme Square, Liverpool, on Thursday. Tickets priced £10.
