PHOTOGRAPHS taken by Tatton Park rangers as they go about their daily duties are being shown in an exhibition opening today.

In Our View depicts wildlife inside the 1,000 acres of Cheshire parkland, from tight close-ups of caterpillars to wide, sunrise vistas.

With 200 years of experience between them, the eight rangers are experts in park, woodland and livestock management, caring for Tatton’s historic deer herd as well as maintaining the site as a safe place of recreation for the general public.

They are also all keen and skilled photographers. In the spare minutes at either ends of the working day, the team can often be seen capturing unexpected moments on camera, often in the half-light of sunrise or sunset when landscape photography is most commonly practised.

Park manager Phil Lucas said: “We have worked closely with the Tatton mansion and learning teams to produce the exhibition. In Our View gives us a great opportunity to celebrate and share the beauty of the parkland. I think our visitors will see the rangers’ love of the park reflected in this collection of their own photographs.”

IN OUR View is on display at the mansion in Tatton Park from today until October 30. Tuesdays to Sundays, 1-5pm. Entry to the mansion is by paid ticket.
