Saltmine Theatre Company brings Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to Liverpool Cathedral

LIVERPOOL Cathedral will be the setting for Ebernezer Scrooge’s visitation by four ghosts in a new production of A Christmas Carol later this month.

Created by Saltmine Theatre Company, Charles Dickens’s classic festive tale will run for one night only, on November 23.

The professional touring company are being brought to the cathedral with the help of Ormskirk-based youth worker Vikki Shacklady.

She helped arrange the venue and the cast, made up of four professional actors who use multiple fast wardrobe changes to portray a vast array of characters.

Vikki says: “The cathedral has always been a very important building to me, and has played a very significant part in my spiritual journey. I wanted to help introduce it to as many young people and families as possible. What better way than through a play that follows the spiritual journey of Scrooge.”

TICKETS, priced £8 (£5 concs), are available on 0151 702 7255.
