TONY Award-winning musical Avenue Q will tour to the Liverpool Empire next year.
Tickets go on sale today for the West End hit, which is performed by a cast of humans and puppets.
Covering subjects such as dating, racism, being gay and finding your purpose in life, the musical tells the story of the lively and off-the-wall characters on a downtown New York street. Run by Theatre Royal Bath Productions, in collaboration with West End producer Cameron Mackintosh, the UK tour will starAdam Pettigrew, Rachel Jerram and Jacqueline Tate, who have all appeared in the London show.
It is being staged by associate director Evan Ensign, who has worked on Avenue Q’s Broadway production.
The cast has also worked with puppetry expert Nigel Plaskitt (The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Muppet Treasure Island, Pepper Pig UK tour).
AVENUE Q is at the Liverpool Empire from June 11-16.
