THE voice of Jim Broadbent will feature as a talking tree in a new play by Lizzie Nunnery.
Fresh from the critical success of The Swallowing Dark, which opened the Playhouse Studio in October, she will present The Man with the Luggage at Capstone Theatre with theatre company Tressell Unmasked.
Nunnery fuses Eugene Ionesco’s absurdist play of the same name with contemporary stories of migration and repatriation set deep within an imagined European state.
Director Oliver Jones says: “The Man with the Luggage is a piece that sheds light on the plight of those being repatriated and those on journeys through life.
“It deals with themes that effect not only the displaced, but in many ways, all of our lives.”
The Swallowing Dark has been nominated for five Offies theatre awards.
THE Man with the Luggage is at Capstone Theatre on December 6-7.
