CONDUCTOR Carl Davis, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and star soprano Mary Carewe will be cracking open a musical selection box for a two-night Christmas party.
The programme is packed with seasonal classics, ranging from the serenity of Bach and Tchaikovsky to all-time family favourites Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, White Christmas and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
Also performing are the Liverpool Philharmonic Training Choir and Melody Makers.
Born in New York in 1936, Davis moved to the UK in 1960 where he has made a name for himself as a conductor and composer.
His career has spanned many genres, from silent film performances to his popular themed concerts such as An Evening with James Bond and Oscar Winners.
A regular visitor to the Philharmonic Hall, he is perhaps most well known for his music for television, including the series The World At War, BBC’s Pride & Prejudice and Cranford, ITV’s Goodnight Mr Tom, and the award-winning film, The French Lieutenant’s Woman. He has also recently written or reconstructed scores for some of the most famous pre-talkie films.
THE Best Christmas Sing-along Ever! is at the Philharmonic Hall on December 10 and 17.
