POET laureate and LIverpool University graduate Carol Ann Duffy is one of five writers shortlisted for the Costa Book of the Year Award.
Duffy was announced the winner of the Costa Poetry Award earlier this month for her book The Bees and will now be judged against the winners of four other categories.
The results will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on Tuesday.
To mark the occasion, the Liverpool Post has teamed up Costa to give readers the chance to win a complete set of shortlisted books, worth £300, and two runner-up prizes of a £20 Costa coffee card.
