ROLF HARRIS’S first major UK exhibition has given the Walker Art Gallery its busiest Saturday on record.
Visitor figures peaked at 3,632 on May 19, the official opening day of the Australian TV star’s show.
Visitors from across the country queued for the length of William Brown Street before the venue had opened, to be in with a chance to meet their hero during a signing event.
For the week of May 14-20, the Walker had a total of 10,362 visitors – a 134% increase on the same week last year.
Rolf Harris: Can You Tell What It Is Yet? runs until August 12.
