COMPETITION: Win a signed reproduction of Sighting by John Moores Painting Prize People’s Choice winner Elizabeth Magill
THIS year’s Liverpool Biennial may be the stuff of memory but the John Moores Painting Prize exhibition will continue at The Walker until January 6 so there’s plenty of time to decide whether you agree with the judges’ decision.
And if you really like what you see you can always take a piece home with you – the works are all for sale, with prices ranging from £250 to £52,000.
If that’s a little out of your price range don’t fear as we have a signed reproduction of the Visitor’s Choice winning work – Sighting by the highly collectable Elizabeth Magill – to give away.
Born in Canada in 1959, the artist moved to Northern Ireland in the early-60s, going on to attend Belfast College of Art and The Slade in London. She has exhibited all over the world, including Dublin, Italy, New York and Seoul.
Painted in oils, Sighting appears to depict a dark woodland scene but on closer inspection unexpected details are revealed.
For a chance to win the signed reproduction, simply answer the following question: Who won the first John Moores Painting Prize in 1957? Answers to laura.davis@liverpool.com by Monday, December 17. Usual terms and conditions apply.
