HUSH (Cert. 15, 91 mins)
Stars: Will Ash, Christine Bottomley, Andreas Wisniewski, Claire Keelan, Stuart McQuarrie, Robbie Gee
Directed by Mark Tonderai

WRITER-DIRECTOR Mark Tonderai’s debut feature is a taut thriller about a young couple plunged into the midst of a nightmare when they see something they shouldn’t.

Zakes (Will Ash) and Beth (Christine Bottomley) make their usual trek along the M1 motorway, numbed to the usual parade of service stations and gloom as they contend with traffic jams and the changeable weather conditions.

Out of the blue, their car narrowly avoids a collision with a white truck, inside of which Zakes glimpses a caged woman screaming for her life.

He is stunned and calls the police but doesn’t actively intervene, to Beth’s obvious annoyance, unsure if what he saw was real.

When the couple stop at a petrol station and Beth vanishes without a trace, Zakes realises that the driver of the white truck must have taken her, too, and he now must play a deadly game of cat and mouse to save the woman he loves.
