The Green Hornet (12)
WHEN party-loving Britt (Seth Rogen) inherits a media empire, he forges an unlikely friendship with chauffeur Kato (Jay Chou) and together they fight crime on the city streets.
In his guise as The Green Hornet, Britt strikes fear into the heart of the underworld controlled by Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz).
Sexy secretary Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), who has a degree in criminology, proves a valuable ally in stoking the mythology of The Green Hornet to splash across the front pages. The Green Hornet resurrects the eponymous masked avenger from George W Trendle's popular radio series and puts him at the centre of a flimsy, illogical plot and a blitzkrieg of headache- inducing action sequences. A puerile script by Rogen, and Evan Goldberg of Superbad renown, leaves no room for sparks of originality.

Waking The Dead – Series Nine (15)
DSI PETER BOYD (Trevor Eve) reaches the end of the line in the final 10 episodes of the popular BBC One series. Boyd and his colleagues from the Cold Case Squad – Dr Grace Foley (Sue Johnston), Detective Inspector Spencer Jordan (Wil Johnson) and forensic scientist Dr Eve Lockhart (Tara FitzGerald) – welcome a new member, Detective Superintendent Sarah Cavendish (Eva Birthistle), who transfers to the team after a scandal.
The newcomer becomes concerned about the lengths Boyd will go to in the name of justice, culminating in a showdown in the two-part finale that sees both characters staring death in the eye. A 46-disc box set comprising all nine series is also available.

Arthur And The Great Adventure (PG)
ARTHUR (Freddie Highmore) is staying with his grandmother when a spider deposits a grain of rice in his hand, engraved with a plea for help. Fearing that Selenia (Selena Gomez) and her little brother Betameche (Jimmy Fallon) are in peril, the lad hastily improvises a passage back to the Minimoys, where he joins forces with bar owner Max (Snoop Dogg) and his pickpocket cousin Replay (Stacy Ferguson) to outwit Malthazar (Lou Reed) and his son Darkos (Iggy Pop). Arthur And The Great Adventure plods from the start and barely moves into second gear when the action changes from live action to computer animation. Highmore loses all emotion when he is reduced to a mere voice, matching lacklustre performances from his co-stars. Arthur And The Dull Adventure would have been more apt.
