TATTON Park Biennial is calling for submissions from Cheshire and North West-based artists for its festival in 2012.
Commissioned work will examine the human urge to fly and the aeronautical legacy of Tatton Park and the region.
Selected artists will be awarded a budget of £5,000 to cover fees, materials and expenses and will share a high-profile platform with other emerging and established national and international artists at the Biennial.
Submissions will be judged by Biennial curators, Danielle Arnaud and Jordan Kaplan from commissioning group Parabola; Brendan Flanagan, Tatton Park and Visitor Economy Manager; Jocelyn McMillan, strategic commissioning officer for cultural services in Cheshire East; and an internally nominated Tatton Park member of staff.
“The Biennial is proud to once again offer tangible opportunities to locally-based artists and designers,” says curators Arnaud and Kaplan.
“The event is growing in significance and reputation and we are sure these commissioning opportunities will offer real benefits to the practitioners the Biennial appoints.”
The deadline for submission of applications is September 30, and interviews will be held on October 20. Further details at www.tattonparkbiennial.org
