Liverpool have confirmed that their sponsorship agreement with Carlsberg has been extended until 2010.
The new deal is for three seasons, believed to be for around £8million a campaign, and further extends the longest club partnership in the Barclays Premiership. Carlsberg first sponsored Liverpool in 1992.
The length of the deal would leave the door for a re-negotiation ahead of Liverpool’s move to a new stadium. New plans are expected to be submitted to Liverpool City Council, with the hope that the ground could be completed in three years.
On the new deal, chief executive Rick Parry said: “We have a fantastic relationship with Carlsberg in one of football’s longest running partnerships. We have a mutual interest in areas like Asia, where we have a big fan base and Carslberg have a lot of customers.”
