Ex-Liverpool target Simao moves

AFTER protracted negotiations between Benfica and Atletico Madrid, former Liverpool target Simao Sabrosa has finally arrived in Spain for a fee in the region of £13.7million.

The negotiations, which have been ongoing for the past six weeks, were finally concluded when the Portuguese international signed a five-year deal at the Estadio Calderon.

Rafael Benitez had seen Simao inspire his team to a famous win at Anfield and rumours abounded that it was a matter of time before Simao would pull on a Liverpool shirt.
