Steven Gerrard to play for England tomorrow

ENGLAND manager Steve McClaren has declared Steven Gerrard fit and not requiring pain-killing injection to get him through the game with Israel tomorrow.

Not only that, any discomfort the Liverpool skipper is still experiencing from his broken toe did not stop him producing an outstanding performance at England’s London Colney training HQ, leaving McClaren optimistic Gerrard will deliver more of the same when it really matters.

“If he plays tomorrow as he trained today, I will be delighted,” said McClaren.

“We will assess the situation tomorrow but he has trained without an injection this week and I don’t think he will need one for the game.”
