Fernando Torres has no concern over rotation

Liverpool FC's Fernando Torres celebrates

FERNANDO TORRES is comfortable with boss Rafa Benitez’s rotation policy, even if it means he sits out tomorrow’s Anfield group stage curtain raiser in the Champions League.

Torres has started Liverpool’s last two away games, but with a desperately out of form Marseille due at Anfield tomorrow, the French side may adopt the blanket defence tactics which Birmingham used to frustrate the Reds recently and saw Torres left on the sidelines.

“We players have to adapt to systems, rather than systems being adapted to suit the players,” said the Spanish international striker.

“The manager will decide who plays depending on what he needs in each game.

“The players who do best are the ones who win a place.

“I’m playing with pressure and responsibility. I’m used to it.”

Speaking in the latest edition of Champions magazine, Torres also underlined his obsessive personality.

“I’m very manic. I combed my hair into a crest because a friend suggested it and from that moment I started to score goals,” he added.

“I always repeat what I did the day before a game if I’ve scored. So, if when I score I’d stood up on the coach on the way to the game, I’ll stand up again. I always repeat it.”

With Jermaine Pennant suspended following his red card in Porto, Yossi Benayoun could be handed a start.
