Double injury blow for Liverpool FC

Liverpool have been hit by a double injury blow as they prepare to face FA Cup giant-killers Havant and Waterlooville in the fourth round on Saturday.

Full-back Alvaro Arbeloa is out with an abdominal problem sustained during Monday’s 2-2 home draw with Aston Villa, and the Spanish defender will be missing for three weeks.

Boss Rafael Benitez will also be without striker Andriy Voronin for the clash against the Blue Square South side, who are 120 places below Liverpool in the game’s pyramid.

The Ukrainian picked up an ankle injury in training today but he could be fit for next Wednesday’s trip to West Ham.
