Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini is exploring the potential availability of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, reports in Italy have claimed.
Controcampo says Mancini has spoken with Italian agent Giorgio de Giorgios about sounding out the possibility of luring Gerrard to the San Siro at the end of the season.
Inter see Gerrard as "the final piece needed to rule Europe" and believe recent events at Anfield could have unsettled the Liverpool captain enough to make a move possible.
The reports also claim that if Inter will wait to see if Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League next season - and if they do fail, they will make an offer in the summer.
Gerrard has already denied rumours which circulated in London during the transfer window that he was ready to move.
