SPANISH teenager Dani Pacheco marked his first reserve team start with a brilliant goal as Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier Reserve League North last night after an impressive 3-0 win at Bolton Wanderers.
Pacheco, a 16-year-old summer recruit from Barcelona, opened the scoring early in the second half with a superb shot into the corner of the net via the inside of the post.
Bolton keeper Ian Walker had earlier denied Pacheco and Jordy Brouwer, and the veteran keeper needed to be at his best to prevent Pacheco adding to his opener.
Jay Spearing was also denied by Walker, but the keeper was beaten twice more, both from the penalty spot, as Gary Ablett’s side really turned on the style in the second half. Ray Putterill converted the first kick, after Brouwer had been felled by Nicky Hunt, and substitute Nathan Eccleston converted the second after a defender had handled Ryan Crowther’s cross.
BOLTON RESERVES: Walker, Sinclair (Smith 65) Carlisle, Dzemaili, Basham, Hunt, Cassidy, Sissons, Alonso, Obadeye, Wolze, Woolf (Charlesworth 65).
LIVERPOOL RESERVES: Martin, Kelly, Insua, San Jose, Huth, Plessis, Flynn, Spearing, Brouwer (Eccleston 83), Pacheco (Crowther 75), Putterill (Bruna 83).
