NEW non-league club AFC Liverpool is looking for a manager.
The club, established primarily for passionate Liverpool fans priced out of Anfield by rising Premiership prices, hope to be playing in the Vodkat League from next season.
Club spokesperson Alun Parry said: “The ideal candidate will be somebody with a wealth of footballing experience who will be committed to making AFC Liverpool a success on the pitch.
“We’d obviously encourage former Liverpool FC players and staff to throw their hat into the ring too if they’d like an exciting managerial challenge with the support of fellow Reds.”
The new club, which hopes to share a ground with another Merseyside non-league side until a permanent home is found, has stressed that addressing affordability issues in football is their motivation, not Liverpool’s current ownership debate.
It also wants to make clear it is not a rebellion team, seeing themselves more like “LFC’s little brother”.
AFC Liverpool are accepting CV submissions online via their website, www.afcliverpool.org.uk by March 31.
