Peter Crouch: "It's nice to score and remind people I'm alive"

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch admitted his frustration at a lack of action after helping his team to a 1-1 draw at Arsenal.

Both teams, with one eye on next week’s second leg of their Champions League quarter-final, were much changed for the Barclays Premier League.

Recalled striker Crouch gave Liverpool the lead at the end of the first half, with Nicklas Bendtner equalising in the 53rd minute.

And the England international said: “It’s nice to remind people I’m still alive.

“It’s been frustrating - it was nice to get a game, I’ve not played for a while and I enjoyed today.

“It’s difficult, I’m not going to lie. I want to play in big games not watch them and thankfully I was part of it today.

“If the manager plays one up front Fernando Torres is going to play the majority of games because he’s a top-quality player.

“I’ll have to see what happens but I’ll work hard to the end of the season.”

On yesterday's contest he said: “We had chances. You can either give up or show what you can do and I thought that was the case today.”
