LIVERPOOL’S Spirit of Shankly, the world’s first football supporters union, is hosting a sell-out end of season concert party for fans.
It will take place at the Liverpool Olympia on West Derby Road after tomorrow’s game against Manchester City.
A number of acts have been scheduled to perform including The Maybes?, The Troubadours, the Great Northwestern Hoboes, John Head of Shack and Starsailor’s frontman James Walsh.
There will also be Kop Idol Karaoke and a half-hour Bill Shankly impersonation.
“There’s never been a properly organised party to get the fans all together after the last home match of the season before, so the speed with which the tickets have sold shows that it’s something that has been needed and hopefully will become an annual event,” said Nicky Allt of the Spirit of Shankly, which was founded as a protest in the wake of the the sale of the club to Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
The event starts at 7pm and is due to end at 1am. A limited number of tickets, priced £10, will be available on the door.
