CHARLTON ATHLETIC have named Phil Parkinson as their new manager.

Parkinson took the reins at The Valley on a caretaker basis in November after Alan Pardew left the club. The Addicks are rooted to the bottom of the Coca-Cola Championship and have failed to win any of the eight games since Parkinson was put in charge.
"The overwhelming feeling was that Phil was the best man to lead us and rescue us from our current plight," said Charlton chairman Richard Murray.
