Jose Manuel Reina arrived from Spanish club Villarreal in July 2005, following a long pursuit from Reds boss and long time admirer Rafael Benitez.
Reina's playing career started at Barcelona, with the man who prefers to be called Pepe, actually playing at Anfield in the 2001 UEFA Cup semi-final second leg, which the Reds won 1-0.
A promising 2004/05 campaign saw Villarreal finish third in La Liga and Reina himself being called up to the Spanish national team.
During the 2005/06 campaign - his first at Anfield - Reina kept 30 clean sheets, beating the record of Liverpool great Ray Clemence in the process.
Reina also enjoyed FA Cup final success at Cardiff, as he saved three times in the penalty shoot-out to help Liverpool clinch their seventh FA Cup triumph.
