Dirk Kuyt became a Liverpool player on the eve of the 2006/07 season after being courted by Rafael Benitez for over a year.
The Dutch international striker was signed from Feyenoord for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £9m.
Kuyt arrived on the back of the summer's World Cup finals, where he figured in three games for his native Holland.
Domestically, he was a prolific scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he netted 71 goals in 101 games for Feyenoord.
He has also registered an impressive 20 goals or more per season since 2002.
Kuyt began his career at FC Utrecht in 1998 before being transferred to Feyenoord in 2003 and made his international debut in September 2004.
